The colonoscope

These are typical colonoscopes.
Under heavy sedation the colonoscope is passed through the colon and any polyps removed. The picture shows one of the scopes with a biopsy forceps coming out the tip of the scope. This examination is advised for everyone over the age of 50 every five years for the detection and prevention of colon cancer.
