Breast Surgery

Breast problems from puberty through adulthood in females and males are evaluated and treated. A variety of breast problems, from developmental concerns (such as delayed or abnormal growth or tenderness) to neoplastic (cancer) concerns, are evaluated with office consultation, exam, and imaging modalities including mammography and ultrasound.

Breast biopsy can be performed with guidance from mammogram or with ultrasound. If cancer is detected the options for surgical therapy are discussed and plans are made for further surgery. Implants can be offered for reconstruction following cancer surgery, or a referral to a plastic surgeon can be made for reconstruction using a variety of other techniques.

Our mammogram unit has been replaced and the new unit is capable of stereotactic biopsy. We will soon also provide sentinal lymph node biopsy as well.
